High Rate Water Pack Design and Modelling (June 21)

High Rate Water Pack (HRWP) treatments are performed around the world in cased hole wells to combine the benefits of gravel packing with some of those of fracturing. Despite their popularity as a sand control technique, there has never been a software model developed for their application in soft rock formations, so their design and execution has been largely driven by a trial and error approach.

This webinar covers the design considerations of HRWP treatments and introduces the first software model combining both wellbore packing and creation of small fractures in soft rock formations. We’ll look at how this can be used in the planning and evaluation of HRWP treatments to reduce risk, maximize packing and continuously improve operations.

Gravel Packing with ICDs (March 21)

Operators are increasingly seeking the combined benefits of gravel packing for sand control and ICD/AICD technology for improved recovery. This results in a challenging completion design with conflicting requirements for a low pressure drop through the screens during gravel packing to facilitate effective placement, and a higher pressure drop during production to facilitate a uniform inflow profile along the interval.

This webinar will cover the challenges associated with these completions and how the industry’s first ICD/AICD gravel pack model can be used to better understand and optimize the various configurations, helping to expand the successful application of these completions.

While every sand control completion is designed for success, things don't always go to plan during the installation. Failures can range from minor issues that can be easily remedied to catastrophic events that put the entire well, and investment, at risk. Regardless of severity, it is critical that all failures are analyzed to determine the root cause, prevent them from being repeated and protect asset value.

This webinar introduces several case studies of failures that occurred during sand control installations and discusses the investigative process and techniques used to identify the root causes. Examples include events such as screen/wash-pipe damage, bridging, hole collapse, and packer seal failure. The webinar will provide key insights into downhole events and mechanisms that can be used to minimize risk and improve future completions.
