Well Productivity Enhancement Through Effective Gravel Pack Design in Cased Hole Webinar (July 2024)

Cased Hole Gravel Packs, either circulating packs below frac or high-rate water packs above frac, are widely used across the industry as a technique for preventing sand production. However, if not properly designed, they may contribute to high skin that negatively impacts well productivity. Therefore, effective cased hole gravel pack design is crucial for ensuring optimal well performance and longevity.

In this webinar, we discuss its theory, challenges, and how to improve your designs!

Managed Pressure Gravel Packing – MPGP Webinar (March 2024)

Until recently, the only way to successfully gravel pack challenging wells in narrow pressure operating windows required adjusting the placement pump rate, fluids or down hole hardware. As margins become smaller, even these changes become limiting and a new approach is required. With the advent of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), a new method for gravel packing these wells has become available – Managed Pressure Gravel Packing (or MPGP).

In this webinar, we discuss this new method and demonstrate practical examples using PackPro, the industry-standard sand control software, which now incorporates the ability to design and evaluate MPGP treatments.

Remedial Sand Control – The Toughest Challenge? Webinar (March 2023)

Many oil and gas wells face late life sand production challenges. Mechanical and chemical remedial sand control techniques for such wells have been available for several years, yet still not widely practised today. Join us to discuss these techniques, their limitations and why, although apparently simple, they are often so challenging.

Stand Alone Screens Webinar (June 2022)

The use of a single stage solids screening device to enable fluid production from wells was the original sand control technique. Whilst the fundamentals remain unchanged, the filtration devices used for such completions, and our understanding of them, have changed significantly.

In this webinar, we review the development of stand-alone-screen completions, the challenges, the limitations, and the evolution of the equipment and understanding which is essential for their successful application.

Shunt Packing with Diverter Subs Webinar (March 2022)

In this webinar, we discuss the use of diverter subs with shunt tubes during gravel packing to reduce the pressure seen in the open hole and prevent fracturing.

After a brief review of shunted gravel packing, we discuss what a diverter sub is and how it affects packing. We then demonstrate how modelling can be applied to determine the optimum number and placement of the diverter subs in the completion.

High Rate Water Pack Design and Modelling Webinar (June 21)

High Rate Water Pack (HRWP) treatments are performed around the world in cased hole wells to combine the benefits of gravel packing with some of those of fracturing. Despite their popularity as a sand control technique, there has never been a software model developed for their application in soft rock formations, so their design and execution has been largely driven by a trial and error approach.

This webinar covers the design considerations of HRWP treatments and introduces the first software model combining both wellbore packing and creation of small fractures in soft rock formations. We’ll look at how this can be used in the planning and evaluation of HRWP treatments to reduce risk, maximize packing and continuously improve operations.

Gravel Packing with ICDs Webinar (March 21)

Operators are increasingly seeking the combined benefits of gravel packing for sand control and ICD/AICD technology for improved recovery. This results in a challenging completion design with conflicting requirements for a low pressure drop through the screens during gravel packing to facilitate effective placement, and a higher pressure drop during production to facilitate a uniform inflow profile along the interval.

This webinar will cover the challenges associated with these completions and how the industry’s first ICD/AICD gravel pack model can be used to better understand and optimize the various configurations, helping to expand the successful application of these completions.
