A Positive Year for DuneFront
In Q4, the DuneFront team continued advancing its mission to deliver reliable, high-performance sand control solutions. During this period, we drove key software developments, supported operators through tailored consulting work, and delivered another successful technical webinar. At the same time, our participation in major international conferences strengthened our industry presence and broadened our engagement across the completions community.
FluidPro: Final Beta Update & Webinar Highlights
FluidPro, DuneFront’s new modelling platform for wellbore fluid displacement, is now in its final stage of beta testing. Designed to move beyond idealized piston-type assumptions, it captures real field behaviour such as roping and intermixing, helping engineers address operational challenges with greater accuracy and confidence.
By incorporating key variables including density contrast, rheology, flow regimes, deviation, and completion geometry, FluidPro enables realistic multi-transport simulations within practical runtimes.
Following this, we also shared these advancements in our webinar “Smarter Wellbore Fluid Displacement Unlocking Efficiency with FluidPro.” The session covered model validation through field case comparisons and included a live demonstration highlighting how the software can improve displacement design.
FluidPro will soon be commercially available. You can explore the new FluidPro and access the full webinar on our Resources Hub.
Consulting Studies
Our clients’ continued trust in DuneFront’s expertise has enabled them to meet efficiency and performance targets throughout the year. As part of our Sand Control Updates 2025, the following Q4 projects highlight how we apply advanced modelling and practical insight to support complex operations.
Supporting a Three-Well Campaign in the Southern Caribbean
Firstly, we assisted a major operator during a demanding three-well open-hole gravel pack campaign, with each well posing a different challenge. Through close collaboration, we engineered shunt-packing designs using specialized tools and advanced modelling. This approach optimized the margin to fracture pressure, ensured complete packing, and maintained positive surface pressure. As a result, the operator gained a clearer view of potential risks, refined operational parameters, and anticipated execution challenges more effectively.
Specialized Studies for an Offshore South America Operator
During this time, we also completed two specialized studies for an independent operator offshore South America. First, we designed an open-hole horizontal gravel pack for a well completed with screens incorporating Autonomous Inflow Control Devices (AICDs) to help reduce water production. The analysis addressed the operator’s concerns about gravel settling in the work-string and how it might affect the pumping schedule. Second, we evaluated how an alternative work-string would influence gravel placement. To sum up, this study complemented earlier work and enabled data-driven decisions supported by accurate modelling.
Conferences and Workshops
DuneFront strengthened its industry presence this quarter by participating in key global conferences. These events fostered collaboration, encouraged knowledge exchange, and reinforced our role within the completions community:
- ADIPEC 2025, Abu Dhabi.
Samyak Jain represented DuneFront on the Technical Committee. He co-chaired a session on advances in water and gas shut-off and engaged with international peers on emerging technologies. The event offered valuable discussions on the future of energy and sustainable development. - Offshore Well Completions Workshop, Kuala Lumpur.
Kesavan Govinathan presented insights on improving gravel pack reliability while focusing on slurry roping mitigation. His presentation drew strong interest, especially in the non-piston model used to assess roping behavior. The workshop highlighted innovation and new approaches in sand control. - SPE Forum: Sand Control in Next-Generation Brownfields and Depleted Reservoirs.
Ray Tibbles presented a poster on roping impact and mitigation. The forum highlighted the industry’s growing focus on depleted reservoirs and marginal fields, reinforcing the need for more reliable and cost-efficient sand control solutions.

A Strong Finish to 2025
Throughout the year, we delivered four specialised training schools and 19 consulting projects across South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, helping operators navigate complex geologies and challenging completion architectures. At the same time, we advanced our software portfolio, completing FluidPro’s beta testing and adding new performance enhancements to the next PackPro release, guided by valuable customer input.
To close the year, the DuneFront team gathered in the South of France for our annual strategic summit, aligning on 2026 priorities and strengthening our roadmap to better support the industry.
As we wrap up 2025, we are thankful for the trust placed in us. Your collaboration continues to shape our solutions, and we look forward to building on this momentum in 2026.
